How to play

The old Viking game. You defend the king 👑 with the white pieces; the machine's red attackers surround you. All pieces move like a rook: as far as they like in a straight line, without jumping. Tap a piece and then a lit square. You capture an enemy piece by trapping it between two of yours (or one of yours and a corner). You win if the king reaches one of the four corners 🏰; you lose if the king is caught: on the small boards two attackers on opposite sides are enough (except next to the throne, where it takes four); on the big board it must be surrounded on all four sides. Only the king may stop on the centre (throne) and in the corners. The board grows: Brandubh 7×7, Tablut 9×9 and Hnefatafl 11×11.

With the TV remote

🎮 D-pad to a white piece · OK · then to a lit square · OK.
